Welcome Minimize

Here is some interesting reading for you I found it in the latest edition of .citycycling:

"For me cycling has become a coping process. I ride my bike to think and to get away from the house (I am too sick to work) I cycle mainly by myself but have also met some of the most amazing people in my life through cycling. The reason I cycle is because it allows me to slip into an almost moving coma where my body is just working for me but my mind is blank, getting the rest it constantly needs. I find it is also a low impact form of exercise which means I never feel beaten by my effort."

"If I have cycled 5 miles I am as happy as if I've ridden 80 miles. I don't ride to punish my body or to experience suffering like a lot of cyclists do. I have had more than a fair share of suffering without the bike. I cycle to experience the beauty in the world and the benefit of producing the chemicals naturally to replace the need of medication. Physical fitness is one of the amazing natural benefits from cycling which also helps as a great motivator. Instead of being obsessed with suicide and death I am now addicted to health and its benefits."

And that's why it so important to come out on a cycle ride with us. You will find  the author's blog here.

Somer Valley Wheels out in the cold!As the winter kicks in we are all tempted to stay indoors and keep warm but remember cycling is one of the best forms of excercise to carry on in every season, we will be there, you can keep coming! A bit of rain isn't going to harm anyone. Here is a suitable quote:

“Physical activity is the key to stopping this country becoming the obesity capital of the world – and people who live active lives also feel better. To get more of us doing the magic 30 minutes, five days a week, we need to make it easier to choose physically active ways of living; for most people, choosing walking and cycling instead of sedentary transport is among the most practical and realistic healthy options.
” Dawn Primarolo, Minister of State for Public Health Department of Health"
